1. Alcohol is Legal (in Licensed Venues)

Despite being in the UAE, alcohol is widely available in Dubai — but only in licensed venues. These are almost exclusively hotels, hotel-attached restaurants, and clubs. You cannot buy alcohol from supermarkets as a tourist without a permit. Stick to hotel bars and licensed clubs and you’ll be fine.

2. Dress Code is Strictly Enforced

No shorts, flip-flops, or sportswear at nightclubs. Men should wear smart shoes, trousers, and a collared shirt or smart t-shirt. Women should dress elegantly — heels are common and appreciated. Beach clubs are more relaxed but still require you to cover up when leaving the pool area.

3. Book Tables in Advance

Popular venues like Soho Garden, WHITE Dubai, and Billionaire Mansion can be impossible to walk into on busy nights. Book a table or minimum spend package in advance. WhatsApp the venue directly — most have dedicated booking contacts.

4. The Weekend is Thursday-Friday

Dubai’s working week runs Sunday-Thursday. Friday-Saturday is the weekend. Thursday night is therefore the equivalent of Friday night in the West — the busiest party night. Plan accordingly.

5. Prices Are High — But Ladies Nights Help

A bottle of spirits at a Dubai nightclub can cost AED 400-800 ($110-220). Cocktails run AED 50-120 each. Ladies nights are the smart way to enjoy Dubai’s nightlife on a budget — free entry and free drinks for women at hundreds of venues every night of the week.
